Carol Ochieng has over 20 years industry experience in energy finance, she has designed, implemented, and performed evaluations of various energy access and health projects in low-income countries. She has done extensive research on overcoming the barriers for technology adoption and use, and effective delivery models for household energy interventions. She has worked at the World Bank head offices in DC and Sustainable Energy for All (SEFA) in Sweden as an energy finance specialist. Caroline was also a Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute, University of Ireland, her research focused on exposure assessment of indoor air pollution from biomass fuel use, health impacts and interventions for reducing the health risk, with a particular interest in understanding factors that influence uptake of health promoting technologies such as clean cookstoves, how to overcome the barriers for technology adoption and use, and effective delivery models for household energy interventions.
